In a sea of powerviolence bands who all sound like mark mccoy, Maryland's Eddie Brock Bring a new and even harder sound to the table. From crushing Grooves to pure grinding blast outs, these guys have their shit together.they just released a split with Lapse on To Live a Lie Records. These guys have a very promising Future ahead of them.
36: when did you guys form?
EB: Eddie Brock has existed as is since 2009. The three of us had jammed in different forms of the band for a while before that, but everything really fell into place then.

36: i love your guys name, what was the reasoning behind picking it?
EB: We're nerds! We just sat around brainstorming band names, which led to more hilarity than productivity, but when we got to tossing around comic book characters, Eddie Brock just stuck. One of the cool things about the name is that it serves as an icebreaker whenever we play new places; we've made some awesome friends because of common interests in comics and noisy jams!

36: how intense do your shows get? i can only imagine how you'd go over here in cali.
EB: We've pretty much seen the whole spectrum between "too cool to like your band" and mosh warriors. There will always be tuff dudes with their arms crossed, but it's really cool that there are some people out there that like our band enough to have fun while we play. South Carolina was the first place that we played far from home, and when we saw that someone had received a kick to the face during our set, we were both apologetic and secretly stoked, haha.

36: what are your guys plans for the future? any new recordings? maybe even a west coast tour? haha
EB: Our split 7" with Lapse is dropping right about now, and we'll be heading out for a weekend with them in early December. Just after Christmas we'll be heading south for a few days with our friends in Rubrics from South Carolina. We wish that a west coast tour were financially possible right now, but who knows what we'll be able to manage down the road; we're definitely aiming to play in lots of new places next year. We'll be making an announcement about our next release before the end of the year.

36: finally what are some of your favorite fastcore/pv bands that have recently come out?
EB: I guess these might not really count as having "recently come out", but: Lapse, Backslider, Triac, and DOC. Most, if not all, of those bands have new stuff coming soon that we're excited for.
EB: Thanks for asking us!
